Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church Leadership
Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.
Hebrews 13:7 (NIV)
17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
Gabriel Lee Montez, D. Min.
Pastor
Pastor Gabe and his wife Erika have felt called to serve a growing community that strives to grow in its relationship with God. While in California, they have served the Fullerton community with its local churches and the Buena Park neighborhoods with The Way Fellowship in Orange County, California. Now, they serve Bryan/College Station and its surrounding area as Texans.
Erika has worked with the Buena Park School District as well as served as director of children's ministries in her local church. Most recently, she co-taught with the Buena Park Christian Learning Center in its inception.
Pastor Gabe has a Bachelor's degree in Theology and a Masters's Degree in Mental Health & Wellness from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. He has also recently completed his Doctorate in Spiritual Formation from Liberty University in Virginia. Pastor Gabe is also serving as a chaplain with The Langford Retirement Community.

Kathryn Jensen is the "Welcoming Committee" at Bright Light. She is currently a housewife, previously a copywriter, and an advertising agency co-owner. She has five children and is a grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoys gardening, painting, and reading.
Kathryn joined Bright Light in the fall of 1994. She has held almost every office at one time or another in "Woman Active for Christ", Kathryn was also a camp counselor at "Camp Sonshine" for several years. She has also been active in Vacation Bible School and in teaching Sunday School,
After a brief time away to help with her grandchildren, she returned to Bright Light in February 2015. Kathryn's name was shortened to Kat by Bright Light members due to the many other Kathryns, Kathy's, and others in the early years.
Kat has always brought the "light" in "Bright Light" to those in the church and is a friend to both newcomers and to other familiar faces.
Clyde Goen
Deacon
The Goen name is rich in Bright Light's history. Clyde is a fourth generation deacon in Bright Light and he has been a member of this church practically since birth. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-69.
Clyde retired as Battalion Chief from Bryan Fire Department He served the citizens of Bryan from 1979 to 2005. He has been a cattle rancher for most of his life and is still quite active in this endeavor.
He began teaching the adult Bible study during the 1980s and was ordained as a deacon in 1996. He has acted as an unofficial interim pastor when needed.
Bright Light is forever grateful for Clyde and his wife Genia who have taken the church through the difficult times without a pastor.
Rory Meadors
Deacon
Rory has been with Bright Light for twenty-five years. He is retired now and enjoys listening to music, gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking, hiking, camping and simply enjoying nature.
He is just about the handiest person to be around when you need something fixed or built.
Rory also loves to teach others as he does what he enjoys. He will be happy to walk you through whatever it is that could be the issue and is always there to help.
Bright Light is thankful for Rory's servant heart and his willingness to always get his hands dirty when necessary. He is a great example to the congregation.
